About Dojo Wars
The goal of Dojo Wars is to great a way for athletes and coaches test their skills and get that "fight stress" - without all the BS of competing, whether it's grappling or MMA.

Dojo Wars is the bridge between training on the mat and fighting in an event.

It helps prepare athletes for bigger events, and students new to competing, a sense of what to expect.

Athletes will compete in 4-person, round-robin tournaments that will guarantee at least 3 matches.

Registration is FREE, but NO spectators.  Dojo Wars is just for athletes and coaches.  But, a livestream link will be available.

Any and all schools/teams are welcome!  If you are an individual without a team, we will review your application and contact you.

We can 99% guarantee all participants a match.  There are some exceptions, but we do our best to find a way.

Thank you and I look forward to seeing you all there.

 FAQ
Am I automatically placed upon registration?
No, there is a bit of a match-making process.  If there are at least 4 with same rank, weight, experience, etc. you can do a tournament.  If not, we will organize exhibition matches or smaller tournament.
Are there spectators?
No.  Participants and coaches only, no exceptions.  Livestream links will be provided for participants.
Do I have to be on a team to participate?
No, anyone can participate in the event.  We may ask you to send a video or visit the Cage JSA to properly place you.   Those who come in a team are more likely to find matches.
What gear is needed for MMA Sparring?
16-18oz Boxing Gloves, Shin Guards, Mouthpiece, Groin Protector, Headgear (optional)
All gear must be approved by referees before tournament.
Can you reap the leg?
You can reap at all levels. White belts/Beginners can only do straight ankle locks.  Blue and above, all submissions legal.
What is the "aggression" rule?
Dojo Wars Shootboxing matches are SPARRING matches with gamification.
These are NOT UFC fights, street fights, or brawls. You are hitting with control.
If a participant is not able to control his energy and turns the sparring match into something more than sparring, then the referee may warn one or both participants.
If the loss of control continues, the match will stop and go to judges decision, judging criteria is also based upon control in the match.
If participant(s) continue to show loss of control in multiple matches, he/she will not be allowed to continue the tournament.
Our goal is safety and fun.
